Male Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Crash near near South Broadway Avenue

SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (May 23, 2024) – One man died early Saturday morning, in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Rosecrans Avenue. The incident occurred around 4:16 a.m., near South Broadway Avenue just east of 110 Freeway. According to officers, a vehicle struck a male pedestrian who was walking in the traffic lanes. The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene without offering assistance to the victim. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The victim’s name has not yet been released to the public. Investigators have not yet provided further details about the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle. Authorities closed West Rosecrans in both directions for the investigation. Police are urging anyone who witnessed the fatal hit-and-run on Rosecrans Avenue to contact the CHP at 424-551-4000.
